Session 4: You Are Called

BIBLE VERSE for YOU ARE CALLED

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
 ( Romans 8:28-30 NIV)

REFLECTION for YOU ARE CALLED

We are called by God for specific purposes that are unique to us and the way that He made us. I know this can seem very hard to believe and understand, but we must believe it in faith. As this verse says, He doesn’t just call us; he justifies and glorifies us as well.

God does not change and He does not make mistakes. This verse does not say that all things for us will be easy, or that they will seem good to us, but it does promise that He will work all things for the good of those who love him in all things.

PRAYER TIME for YOU ARE CALLED

Ask God to reveal to you some specifics of what He is calling you to do; it might be an action He wants you to take or it might simply be moving closer to Him. It might be surrendering something in your life that has actually changed from a hobby to an idol.

FAITH ACTION STEP for YOU ARE CALLED

Take steps to put into action the calling God has for you now. These steps may be seeking the wisdom of other Christians or starting something that God put on your heart some time ago.

JOURNAL ACTIVITY for YOU ARE CALLED

Spend a few moments writing in your journal any verses or ideas that grab your attention from the Bible reading, as well as anything that comes from your Prayer Time & Faith Action Step.
