A few moths ago, I had my second heart surgery in a year. Shortly beforehand, we learned that the hospital is not allowing any visitors for surgeries because of the COVID pandemic.  When we heard the news, this hit my wife and I hard as we have leaned on each other these past 38 years whenever times got tough. It is safe to say this was one of our toughest times. I became a bit fearful and my mind began to race and then a question came to me:

Who has been with you since the beginning?

I then felt a strong conviction that I forgot God was there the entire time.  My fears quickly went away, and a calmness returned to me. I forgot that during times like these, I must lean on the Lord for strength, courage and deliverance.

If God can shut the mouths of lions, calm the sea in an instant, heal the sick by just touching their clothes, my journey is a cake walk for Him.  I just need to trust in Him.

I know these are some of the most fearful times that we have seen as a nation and a world.  So my prayer for you comes from Proverbs 3:5-6 which tells us:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

I pray we all lean on the Lord more during these very uncertain times and that He lights a path that protects us, guides us and heals us.

May the Lord become your rock, your fortress, and your deliverer!!!

It is in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!
