As we approach Christmas, I am reminded of how Joseph, who was intending to divorce Mary, had an the angel visit him to set the record straight. In Matthew 1:20 we read: But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.” I am very thankful Joseph was obedient to what the angel asked him to do because if not, the world might be a different place.
My question to you is, “Are you listening to God during this busy Christmas season?” For me, I have been hearing “feed my sheep,” which I know sounds weird, but it has led me to help others I might not typically help. I am not saying this to be prideful but to challenge you to slow down and ask the Lord in prayer, “How can you be a light in this very dark world?”
So my prayer for you is that you slow down enough this season to listen to the Lord and become a light to others. When your light shines, it displays the heart of Jesus to others. This light is given to us by the Holy Spirit and is one of the ways God grows his Kingdom each and every day. Be a light!
